The nearest wildlife sanctuary to Accra is the Shai Hills Resource Reserve. See bat caves, zebras, ostriches, antelope, birds, butterflies, and baboons. There are routes for rock scrambling, hiking, and driving of different lengths. From the hills, there's a stunning view of the Accra plains. 

Ostriches, antelopes, bats, birds (like the Violet Turaco, paradise flycatcher, Green Turaco Red-billed Hornbill, Yellow-fronted Tinkerbird, and red-necked buzzard), baboons, cats, duiker, guinea fowls, Kobs, green monkeys, monitor lizards, and zebras are among the nearly dozens of primary animal species that can be encountered while hiking.

A visit to Atimpoku for a revitalizing look at the Volta Lake. We can have breakfast at the lovely Bridge View Hotel since we will be leaving the city early for this experience (breakfast is paid for by the customer). At Adomi, take a Volta Lake cruise. This experience extends to Ghana's interior Volta Region, which is home to countless breathtaking waterfalls and landscapes.

You can learn how glasses are turned into beautiful beads that adorn our bodies by visiting this plant. Observe the glasses being ground into a fine powder and then put into a mold made of clay. Look at the method used to cook it, which involves burning crushed palm kernels at a very high temperature to get the desired outcome. It's surprising how simple it is to use traditional technology to raise the temperature of palm kernels to about 600°C. See how they are made at this bead factory, and don't forget to buy some beads for presents and mementos.

The Mona monkeys, who live in the tropical forest around the tiny village of Tafi-Atome, have been protected for the past 200 years because it was thought that they were messengers to the gods. In addition to providing tours for tourists, the village started more extensive efforts to preserve its forest and monkeys in 1996. These efforts have preserved the forest with its numerous bird and butterfly species and increased the number of monkeys to around 200. Although they are wild, the playful monkeys frequently approach visitors very closely when they are offered bananas.

Agumatsa Falls, also known as Wli Waterfalls (pronounced "vlee"), is a well-known and striking tourist destination close to the village of Wli, which is close to the border with Togo. Thousands of fruit bats nest high up on the nearby cliffs, adding to the stunning and beautiful setting of the easy walk to the lower falls, which is mostly a flat trail and popular with tourists. Those who have the endurance for the strenuous hike will enjoy the equally high and much more remote upper falls. The fitness-minded can cool off in the welcoming pools at the foot of both falls. The first is the lower falls, a simple 45-minute walk.The second hike takes three hours, so you'll need a good pair of hiking shoes and some endurance. Since the third hike is five hours long and most definitely not for the weak of heart, it is up to you to select the options that best fit your abilities.

With a height of 885 meters (2,904 feet), Mount Afadja is one of Ghana's highest mountains. The mountain is situated in the Volta Region of Ghana, close to the villages of Gbledi and Liati Wote, in the Agumatsa Range, which borders Togo. The mountain's name is "Afadja," but the Ewe dialect's "to" means "mountain," so the indigenous people call it "Afadjato." Since "Mount Afadjato" is a repetition of "Mountain," "Mount Afadja" would be the proper name. Thousands of tourists from all over the world visit Mount Afadja every year, making it one of the most popular tourist destinations in Ghana's Volta Region.

It serves as the main marketplace for all of the nearby villages and is open to both locals and visitors from far and wide. Although the market women display their wares every day, the actual market days are Mondays and Fridays. On these days, however, things become a lot more interesting. Goods like rice, maize, yams, and fish are shipped to Accra from there, along with a wide range of groceries, home goods, and apparel.

The first canopy walk in the Volta Region and the only one of its kind in Ghana is the Amedzofe canopy walkway. As you stroll among the treetops and take in the breathtaking view of the Ote Waterfalls below, it provides a singular experience. Visitors can enjoy the lush forest surroundings and get up close to the waterfall thanks to the walkway's numerous suspension bridges and platforms. The 259 steps that lead down to the canopy walkway can be a little difficult, but the breathtaking views make the climb worthwhile.The stunning waterfalls of Ote descend from a height of roughly 80 meters. It's a calm location with fresh, clean water that's ideal for a picnic or a leisurely bath. The waterfall provides a tranquil getaway from the stress of everyday life and is encircled by a lush forest. It's also a fantastic place to enjoy nature and birdwatch. The waterfall requires a steep descent to reach, and it's approximately a 45-minute walk from the town of Amedzofe.

Mount Gemi, also called Mount Gayito, is situated in the Ghanaian town of Amedzofe in the Volta Region.Mount Gemi, which is only 85 meters shorter than Mount Afadjato, is Ghana's second-highest peak. On clear days, it provides stunning views of the surrounding area, including Lake Volta. Mount Gayito, which translates to "God of Defense" in the local tongue, was the mountain's original name. In 1939, to mark their 50 years in Amedzofe, German missionaries erected a cross atop the mountain, which they named Mount Gemi in honor of the German Evangelical Missions Institute (GEMI).Climbing to the top is a common pastime. The hike offers a 360-degree view from the summit and takes roughly one and a half hours. A trail that descends to the Ote Waterfalls takes roughly two hours.
